26 Molgat Ave (By St Vital Mall)
This playground features a soft play surface and a large play structure with plenty of climbing opportunities and imaginative play elements. A car track loops around the playground, and there's a multi-child spinner that can be spun as fast as the children can make it go.
Kids can also enjoy a giant Snakes and Ladders game with a spinner to determine their moves, as well as five powerable musical instruments that are charged by turning a dial before playing.
The playground is wheelchair accessible and includes picnic tables and benches throughout the area for caregivers to relax. The playground is fully fenced from the adjacent road.
25 Poseidon Bay (by the Pan Am Pool)
Jumpstart Playground is a thoughtfully designed space built with inclusivity in mind, with a wide range of accessible features so kids of all abilities can play together. It’s perfect for crawlers, climbers, big kids, little kids, and children who use mobility devices, with truly something for everyone. The playground has double-wide ramps that allow wheelchairs and strollers to move side-by-side with plenty of room to turn, roller slides that reduce static and are safer for children with cochlear implants while still providing a fun sensory experience, and bucket swings with harnesses for children who need extra trunk support. The entire playground has soft, squishy rubber surfacing and includes a large climber, multiple climbing features, tightrope-style balance play, a two-person tandem swing, interactive learning walls featuring braille and sign language, a four-person teeter-totter, a large musical play area, and a sensory space that is also great for crawlers learning to stand. There’s also a rocking boat with a tic-tac-toe game, a dome climber, and fun photo stand-ins. Public washrooms are available in the neighboring library, but be sure to check the library hours.

Gan Re’ut Friendship Garden Playground is now officially open and ready for play! This brand-new, state-of-the-art outdoor space is a fantastic addition to the Asper Jewish Community Campus and is designed to be a safe, inclusive place for kids to play. The playground features a soft, rubberized surface that is accessible for children of all abilities, as well as strollers and wheelchairs. There are new climbers and slides with wider access points, sensory play panels and communication boards to encourage creativity and connection, canopies for shade and protection, and fully accessible ride-on elements including the We-Go-Round, We-Saw, and Swayfun It’s a thoughtfully designed space that combines accessibility, imagination, and fun.

225 Shady Shores Dr (South Transcona)
This hidden gem in Transcona is a community-funded playground and a great spot for kids who love a climbing challenge. This playground has two play structures, a monkey bar climber, big-kid and baby swings, a tandem swing for a parent and baby, and multiple climbing walls. It is somewhat accessible, as you can get from the path onto the playground area with wheels, but the surface is uneven and the playground pad is mulch. There is also no shade, so be sure to bring sunscreen on sunny days. If your kids are little climbers, this one is definitely worth checking out!
170 Bluemeadow Rd (Bridgwater)
Bluemeadow Playground, lovingly called the Pirate Ship Playground has a pirate ship play structure with interactive features like a spyglass and wheel, while the huge circular play structure has one of the best designs I’ve seen in Winnipeg. Kids can take multiple routes around and through the structure, going from one side to the other without ever having to touch the ground. There is also a zip line, various types of monkey bars, a rock climbing wall, rope climbing, multiple slides, easy stair access to the entire structure, saucer swings, a spinning climber, and several other spinners and rocking toys. There are plenty of benches for adults, but very little shade, so keep that in mind on hot, sunny days.
65 Morrow Ave (St. Boniface/St. Vital)
This playground has so many reasons to love it. It features a large, nature-themed playground with two rock climbing walls, a climbing boulder with rope climbers attached, and plenty of other challenging climbing opportunities. There’s also a unique spinning toy that you can stand on with a wheel overhead—I’ve never seen anything like it before! There are four slides, several rocking, spinning, and musical toys, and a sandbox with some neat sand-pouring features. One of the biggest highlights is the SO MUCH SHADE, which is perfect on a hot day. There’s also a wading pool with four spray features, and the pool is noticeably shallower than other city wading pools—I'd say about half as deep. The bathrooms were clean and seemed well maintained, and there are benches throughout the park, many in the shade, along with two picnic tables. The road is fenced off, but the back of the park and the parking lot are open.
417 Sackville St (By the airport)
This is a great option for kids ages 5–12 who are looking for more active and challenging play. The playground is centered around a thrilling zip line and a net-climbing PlayBooster structure, along with slides, swings, including an accessible “oodle swing,” and plenty of opportunities for sand play. The bright layout, designated picnic areas, and clear pathways make it welcoming for families and caregivers. The playground is also part of the larger St. James Memorial Sports Park, which includes pickleball courts, a football field, a baseball diamond, and community gardens nearby.
Assiniboine Park
This is a two-acre play space. The playground has a sand and water play area has water channels that automatically flow from rock features every few minutes, along with a hand pump for more water play. Kids can climb and slide on the slithering slides and colorful rubber hills and mountains, wander through living willow-tree tunnels, and explore the sky-high crow’s nest and net bridges that connect elevated forts and lead to a huge slide. There are also accessible basket swings, shaped topiaries and hedges throughout the play area, and rubber landscapes designed to mimic soft hills and rounded mounds for varied tactile play. A picnic shelter is located near the west entrance and is available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved. Public washrooms are also available nearby. This playground has a great mix of nature, climbing, water, and imaginative play, making it a fantastic spot for kids of different ages and interests.
70 Cal Gardner (By Costco on Regent)
The Bug Playground is a fun and unique playground in Transcona that lets kids climb right up into the belly of a giant bug! There are separate play structures for both big kids and toddlers, with the larger structure featuring stair access. Kids will find plenty of opportunities to stay active with monkey bars, climbing features, and four swings, including two baby swings. The toddler structure also includes some more challenging climbing elements for little adventurers who like to test their skills. There is very little shade at the moment, but the surrounding trees are growing and should provide more coverage in the future.
510 King St. (North End)
Between the school and the neighborhood center the shared greenspace has 3 playgrounds and an amazing splash pad. Each play structures are average, but between the 3 of them there is something for every skill level. This is the only spray pad I’ve seen with different elevations. The middle is raised higher, with water running down both sides. There is a toddler area closer to the school with two ankle-height spray features and streams of water that run toward the drain, which are perfect for little feet to splash in. On the opposite end is the Splash Track, a semi-circle with several different water features for kids to run through. The water turns on using three touch points and stays on for a limited amount of time.
343 Munroe Ave (Elmwood)
St. Alphonsus School Playground in Elmwood is a climber’s paradise! The large playground has a two-level difficulty curved climbing wall, a net climber, a rock wall, and a unique adventure mountain attached to the play structure, along with even more climbing features throughout the main structure. There are also saucer swings and traditional swings, although there are no baby swings. The playground has a picnic shelter, basketball hoops, and a volleyball net, making it a great spot for active kids who enjoy a challenge.
401 Roch S (East Kildonan)
The theming of this playground is special. It's blue and gold, has yard lines panted on turf, fold down stadium seats, football rocker and other little details to find. This park has exercise equipment, lots of seating and some shaded spots.
